Feed Nova Scotia extends food life with new reefers
HALIFAX, NS — Feed Nova Scotia has leased five new reefer trucks to step up its capacity to save unwanted food from a date with dumpsters this holiday season.
According to Nick Jennery, executive director of Feed Nova Scotia, the new refrigerated trucks will criss-cross the province to stop at grocery stories and collect food that goes unpurchased and may be thrown out.
The refrigerated trucks help the group expand its options when it comes to transporting perishable food items.
The charitable group will even collect uneaten Halloween candy, if you have any.
