FUEL-SAVING LUBES

Roadranger FE 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lubricant from Eaton Corp. is now available through every major heavy-duty truck original equipment manufacturer in North America. Eaton says independent research confirms that the lube will generate a fuel-consumption reduction of more than 1%. That can mean several hundred dollars on the bottom line.

The Roadranger FE 75W-90 synthetic lube is now listed as the standard fill for all class 5-8 vehicles from Peterbilt and Kenworth, as well as a databook option on International, Mack, Volvo, Freightliner, Sterling, and Western Star heavy-duty trucks.

These lubricants are manufactured exclusively for Roadranger by Cognis Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio. They meet and exceed transmission specification Eaton PS164 REV7 and axle specification Dana SHAES 256 REV C – which were introduced to improve low- and high-temperature operation and to provide better protection against gear wear in high-horsepower, high-torque, high-speed, and heavy-load applications.

Roadranger-approved synthetics are required in Eaton Fuller transmissions and Dana Spicer axles in order to qualify for extended warranty coverage and up to 500,000-mile initial drain approvals.
