WINNIPEG — Payne Transportation plans to purchase two carriers in an effort to develop the Winnipeg-based fleet’s Specialized Division and compliment both the Open Deck and Dry Van Division.

Payne, which operates as a separate division within the Mullen Group, has entered into agreement to purchase Ger-Ed Transport of Winnipeg, and GVT Transport of Winkler, Man.

A closing date of June 30 is projected for both acquisitions.
