Half a Dozen Reasons to Celebrate for PeopleNet

CINCINNATI, OH —Fleet mobility technology provider PeopleNet is celebrating their 20th anniversary this week and what better way to kick-start than with six employees getting designated as certified transportation professionals (CTPs).

Yesterday, six PeopleNet employees were added to the company’s roster of CTPs (certified transportation professionals) at a graduation ceremony at the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) conference in Cincinnati. PeopleNet now has 34 CTPs – more than any other member organization.

“Our newest group of CTPs is now part of an exceptionally knowledgeable community of trucking professionals whose contributions are essential in meeting the needs of private fleets. We’re proud to continue our elite status as the NPTC member with the most CTPs to ensure PeopleNet’s incomparable expertise in serving the trucking industry,” said Rick Ochsendorf, PeopleNet’s senior VP of operations.

Founded in 1939, NPTC provides private-fleet training courses to earn the CTP accreditation. The program is sponsored by the NPTC Institute, which provides training and certification programs that advance the professional skills and knowledge of all NPTC members. In order to maintain their designation, CTPs are required to support the program through continuing education and volunteer activities, such as attending and speaking at seminars and grading exams.

Six PeopleNet employees got their CTP certifications at a graduation ceremony at the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) Education Management Conference and Exhibition, held in Cincinnati, April 13-15.

The six new PeopleNet CTPs are:

  • Scott Groff, Manager of Customer Management
  • Adam Crossno, Senior Customer Manager
  • Kelly Eshleman, Senior Customer Manager
  • Tim Prochaska, Project Manager
  • Jessica Lodermeier, Project Manager
  • Dave Durr, Regional Account Manager

That brings the company to a total of 34 CTPs.

Gary Petty, NPTC president and CEO commented: “PeopleNet’s 34 CTPs demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to understanding the needs of private fleets and helping them meet their challenges. Open to both Fleet and Allied members, CTP is the first step in a continuous journey to build a core of professionals who are setting standards for private fleets’ operations management.”

And here’s more reason to celebrate: recently, PeopleNet won the 2014 North America Frost & Sullivan award for Company of the Year as well as Inbound Logistics’ Top 100 Logistics IT Provider for 2014.
