Heavy Duty Aftermarket Canada Powers Up With New Name

OTTAWA, ON— After 30 years as the Heavy Duty Distributor Council, the national association representing the Canadian heavy duty aftermarket industry changed its name to Heavy Duty Aftermarket of Canada (HDAC) to better reflect its membership and activities.

When the council was created in 1984, its goal was to represent Canada’s heavy duty warehouse distributors, but over the years, the association and its mandate grew. HDAC now represents the interests of both distributor and associate members, advocating for the entire Canadian heavy-duty aftermarket.

The association has more members and has also expanded its breath of activities. In recent years, the association has taken on a role in lobbying and government relations, market research, media relations and hosting its annual four-day conference.
