Hino Humming 40th Birthday Tune

MISSISSAUGA, ON — Forty years ago, Tokyo-based Hino Motors brought their light and medium-duty commercial trucks into the Canadian truck market.

“From humble beginnings in 1974 to the prominent Canadian manufacturer of Class 4 – 7 trucks it is today, Hino is proud to celebrate its 40th year in Canada,” said Eric Smith, VP of sales.

The company will celebrate its 40th anniversary later in the year at a gala event for customers, dealers, suppliers and guests, who will tour Hino’s Mississauga head office.

Hino first settled in Burnaby, BC and began to import and assemble the first Hino trucks to arrive in North America.

“Today the company is well entrenched within the Canadian marketplace with a coast-to-coast network of 47 dealers, a Canadian assembly plant in Woodstock, ON, and its head office and Parts Distribution Centre located in Mississauga, ON,” Smith said.

Hino is also celebrating 30 years of business in the United States and 96 years in Japan.
