Hino’s New 258 Conventional Truck

Hino Motors Canada has released its new high-horsepower model 258 low-profile conventional truck.

Hino's new model 258 conventionalIt’s powered by Hino’s 7.6L diesel producing 230 hp and 520 lb ft of torque, but a 260-hp/660-lb-ft version of the engine is available as an option on the 217-inch-wheelbase model. Combined with a 6-speed Allison FuelSense automatic transmission, the Hino 258 is said to be well suited for towing and recovery applications.

“This new product is ideal for tow operators that require optimum performance and durability in extremely difficult conditions,” said Eric Smith, senior vice president of sales and customer support at Hino Canada

Standard features include air conditioning, driver’s air-suspension seat, keyless entry, and Bluetooth. Every new Hino medium-duty truck comes with Hino Premium Protection, a comprehensive vehicle maintenance and protection plan  at no additional charge. The plan includes a 5-year/400,000-km limited Hino engine warranty.

The new trucks will be produced at the company’s Canadian assembly plant in Woodstock, ON.
