How to Make Trucking Desi-rable

GAINESVILLE, FL — Shantanu Suman is an artist working on his masters of fine art degree at the University of Florida and he has an affinity for truck art, especially Indian truck art.

So he invented a board game called Truckopoly.

He’s only produced a prototype so far and has yet to obtain licensing rights from Monopoly’s owner Parker Brothers.

Suman remains hopeful his project will progress but even if it doesn’t, he is determined to help immortalize the incredible heavy-duty trucks of his native India.

“It is a common belief among the truck owners of India that a beautiful truck is good for business. Little wonder then that until sometime back these owners never thought twice about spending several months of their income on truck redecoration,” the enterprising artist told Today’s Trucking.

He sees Indian truck art as an endangered species and is focusing his master’s thesis on the trucks. He’ll be traveling to India in the summer to document the industry’s fondness for art on wheels.

But be warned. You won’t get any work done for a few minutes. This stuff’s amazing.
