Industry veteran brings extensive media and trucking experience to Daimler

PORTLAND, Ore. – Dave Giroux has been appointed director of public relations and corporate communications for Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA).

Giroux will be responsible for DTNA’s public relations strategy, internal and external corporate communications, as well as media relations for its industry-leading family of Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit Diesel, Thomas Built Buses, and other company brands.

"We are pleased to welcome Dave Giroux, a proven innovative communicator, to our DTNA family," said Martin Daum, president and CEO of DTNA. “This strategic organizational placement strengthens our focus on exceptional communications with industry and national media, not only pertaining to our well-known truck brands, but also related to our global engineering, design, and manufacturing prowess.”

He said Giroux bring an extensive background in the trucking industry and media relations to an already accomplished communications team.”

Giroux joins Daimler Trucks North America after serving as Meritor, Inc.’s director of global brand management and marketing communications. In this role, he was responsible for the company’s brand transition from ArvinMeritor, Inc. to Meritor, Inc. Previously, he served as director of marketing communications for Peterbilt Motors Company in Denton, Texas. Giroux also has extensive international experience operating as ArvinMeritor’s director of corporate communications and media relations in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Giroux and the DTNA communications team are located at DTNA corporate headquarters in Portland, Ore.
