Is It Time to Talk Innovation? PIT Holds First Conference
POINTE-CLAIRE, QC — Truckers know that in this industry it can occasionally be difficult to keep up with the fast-paced, ever-changing latest technology, but that it helps to be at the forefront of innovation.
That’s why the Performance Innovation Transport (PIT) group, a not-for-profit engineering and research enterprise that's part of FPInnovations, is hosting its first ever conference on Feb. 18 at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel.
“As technology developers race to be first to market with new innovations, fleet operators are often overwhelmed and ultimately disappointed with this ‘rush to market’ attitude,” PIT states. “More than ever before there is a need for both parties to meet and focus on important needs: cost control, safety, drivers.”
The conference will bring together 350 industry leaders and innovators.
PIT claims there will be an opportunity for frank conversation between developers, suppliers and fleet owners about the emerging technology about to hit the trucking industry.
PIT’s Honorary President is Christopher Trajkovski, Bison Transport’s VP of fleet maintenance. He commented: “Bison Transport is proud to be associated with the PIT Conference. We believe that innovation is key in our company’s success and we need to be at the forefront of new development.”
Some of the topics covered at the conference are:
• Emerging technology in trucking
• Driver’s assistance
• Connected vehicles
The sessions will be chaired by Today’s Trucking’s VP Editorial, Rolf Lockwood and Contributing Editor Jim Park, who is also equipment editor at Truckinginfo.com and Itamar Levine, director of sales and marketing at Hendrickson.
