OTTAWA, ON — There’s less than one week left to apply for honors through Top Fleet Employers – a new program that will recognize fleets which have the best workplaces in Canada’s trucking industry.

“Applications have already been submitted by fleets of every size,” says Angela Splinter, Chief Executive Officer of Trucking HR Canada. “These fleets recognize that their HR practices establish a competitive edge when hiring and retaining employees. And Top Fleet Employers gives them a chance to be honoured for the working environments they have created.”

Applications will be accepted at www.truckingHR.com until midnight on Friday, February 28.

The program was launched late in 2013 and aims to find the best workplaces in Canada’s trucking industry. It’s different from the Best Fleet to Drive For survey and contest because Top Fleet Employers is open not only to for-hire fleets, but also to private fleets. Another difference is that while the Best Fleet to Drive For survey and contest is open for all for-hire trucking companies with over 10 trucks in Canada and the U.S., Top Fleet Employers is only open to Canadian fleets and they do not have a specification on the minimum number of trucks a fleet must have to apply.

Its selection criteria reflects Canadian human resources issues, trends and working environments, and have been validated by a panel of trucking industry experts and a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP). They also echo Trucking HR Canada’s standards of excellence, and consider every position in a fleet.
