LIGHTWEIGHT FLATBED
The 4000A flatbed is the latest offering from Utility Trailer Manufacturing. Featuring an aluminum/steel composite design, the new trailer is said to be both stronger and more
durable than the 2000A flatbed while reducing tare weight by over 400 lb.
It uses the one-piece plasma-cut main beam webs and 80,000-lb frame rating of the 2000A, but adds the increased strength of a newly designed hat-shaped main beam top
flange made of 80,000-psi, high-tensile steel. The 4000A also features the well proven Hendrickson narrow hanger AANT 23k spread air-ride suspension. Equally important, says Utility, the main beams are contoured at the rear for uniform axle loading. Finally, the 4000A is said to be the "next generation" of lightweight flatbeds designed and tested on the company’s own real-world test track to ensure reliability.
Utility also makes dry freight vans, reefers, flatbeds, and Tautliner curtainsiders.
