Cooper Roadmaster RM230 HH severe-duty trailer tireA new size in the Roadmaster RM230 tire line is now available for severe-duty applications such as logging and mining. From Cooper Tire & Rubber, the company says it was inspired by its visits with Canadian loggers, who expressed the need for a robust trailer tire.

The RM230 HH tire is designed to withstand stone penetration, with 18-ply rating (load range J) construction, tread depth of 22/32-inch, cut- and chip-resistant compounding, and an off-road design with lugs and a stone protector ledge. The new size is 275/70R22.5.

The new RM230 HH has a very deep tread at 22/32nds while most highway trailer tires are in the range of 12/32nds to 16/32nds. That, says Cooper, helps to ward off tire damage from off-road challenges, such as shot rock and tree roots. It also says special compounding helps in combating scrubbing once the tire is running on pavement.

The tire features a high-tensile-strength four-belt package to help promote multiple retreads. It comes with a six-year, two-retread warranty.
