Mack Plant to Receive $26 Million in Upgrades
GREENSBORO, NC — Mack Trucks announced they’re investing $26 million in upgrades at its Macungie, PA plant, to improve post-production inspection and testing of complete vehicles.
The investment into Macungie Cab & Vehicle Assembly facility will see the main vehicle assembly lines become more streamlined and efficient. To do that, Mack is realigning sub-assembly and material handling to better support the lines.
“Along with a product line-up and dealer network that have never been stronger, this latest significant investment in our facilities sends a clear message that Mack is poised to grow our business,” said Stephen Roy, the President of North American Sales & Marketing for Mack .
Two new dynamometers will also be installed as part of the overhaul.
Mack’s Vice-President and General Manager Roger Johnston said the move aims to push the Macungie plant into world-class-facility status.
“This investment speaks to our commitment to operational excellence,” Johnston said.
