Miller Departing Trucking HR Canada

OTTAWA — Trucking HR Canada is bidding farewell to Tamara Miller, director of programs and services, as she joins the team at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp., according to a Tuesday announcement.

Kim MacLaren, who played a lead role in developing National Occupational Standards for the trucking industry’s non-driving occupations, will fill Miller’s role on an interim basis, while a search for a new director of programs and services is underway.

Miller departs Sept. 18, while MacLaren joins the Trucking HR Canada team immediately.

“Trucking HR Canada is a stronger organization thanks to Tamara’s many contributions,” said Trucking HR Canada CEO Angela Splinter. “She played key roles in developing our Top Fleet Employer program, National Occupational Standards, and many other projects, drawing on her aptitude in HR, clear thinking, and natural ability to connect with people.”

MacLaren, a project management consultant, is already well known at Trucking HR Canada, where she has offered strategic HR oversight on several projects.

“I’m thrilled to have had the chance to learn so much about the trucking industry, work alongside the dedicated Trucking HR Canada team, and benefit from Angela’s leadership,” Miller said. “Having worked directly with Kim, I also know that ongoing initiatives are in great hands.”

Trucking HR Canada is collaboration among the stakeholders in the trucking industry that addresses human resource issues, supports industry recruiting, promotes trucking careers and provides a forum for exchanging ideas.
