MO-Time Has Arrived Again, Truckers!

TORONTO- Truckers, the Toronto Transportation Club (TTC) is challenging you to grow a mustache in support of Movember, a movement that raises funds and awareness for men’s health issues.

Gord McNeil, prostate-cancer survivor and the past president of the TTC, commented: “In 2010, the bad news arrived for me that I had prostate cancer and my challenge was on.”

Two things saved his life, McNeil said: “Early detection and a skilled surgeon.”

And that’s why he’s encouraging others in the industry to promote early detection and to have fun doing so.

Anyone can enter the TTC’s MO Challenge; the top fundraiser will win an iPad, the best and second-best moustaches will win Leaf’s tickets.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Appoint a company person to create and lead your company team;
  2. Slap a big MO on the front of your truck (they are removable and don’t have to stay on all month, but are great for photo ops to show company and industry support for a good cause);
  3. Inspire your team by having McNeil come out to speak;
  4. Display a poster at your workplace;
  5. Promote your participation in any way you can:  tweet, post, Instagram, phone, text, email, send out a company newsletter;
  6. Check for Corporate Donation Matching Programs;
  7. Join up at the torontotransportationclub.com.

Last year, the TTC Mo Challenge raised over $16,000 and the club hopes this year will be even bigger and better.
