Navigation App Updated

ALK offers a new update to its CoPilot Truck mobile GPS navigation app for iOS and Android. The update, v9.6.2, includes a revamped and restyled user interface  and a full map update.

CoPilot Truck v9.6.2 is designed to provide professional drivers with comprehensive and accurate truck-specific navigation and is the only navigation app to offer ALK’s PC*MILER commercial routing. The new version includes updated maps that contain truck-specific attributes not found in standard car GPS navigation apps. These include height and hazardous materials restrictions, truck-related points of interest (POIs), state mileage calculators, and more.

ALK notes that there’s a fundamental difference in the GPS navigation needs of the truck driver as compared to the average four-wheel traveler. CoPilot Truck addresses these differences by providing truck drivers optimal routes that can reduce costly out-of-route mileage, enable improved driver safety, and assist in avoiding costly vehicle damage by calculating routes based on the size of vehicle driven and load carried.”

CoPilot Truck v9.6.2 also seamlessly integrates with the Drivewyze PreClear mobile-based weigh station bypass app, available separately from Drivewyze, to help drivers save time and money by bypassing weigh stations while following CoPilot Truck guidance. It only applies to U.S. routes, however.

Drivers will also benefit from CoPilot Truck’s new ActiveRoutes feature that calculates routes using average road speeds at that exact time of day and day of the week they’re scheduled to travel for precise routing.

The update is available free for all CoPilot Truck app users in North America, available on Google Play and the App Store.
