Toronto, Ont. - - - Newcom Business Media is pleased to announce that Jason Rhyno has been named associate editor of Today’s Trucking Magazine. He will also be working on its associated website todaystrucking.com and related social media outlets.

Rhyno is replacing Marco Beghetto, who resigned from Newcom after 11 years to assume the new role of Vice-President, Communications and New Media, with the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) and Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA).

Rhyno, who studied at York University and Centennial College’s School of Magazine and Book Publishing, was most recently Editor  of JobPostings Magazine. Prior to that, he worked on a variety of magazines in the Toronto area.Rhyno also served as an editorial intern at Today’s Trucking while a student at Centennial.

The trucking industry seems like a natural fit for Jason, a native of Longlac, Ont. He grew up around trucks and still remembers bouncing around in his uncle's Mack between Geraldton and Thunder Bay.

Indeed, he likes to boast that he was taught to drive by not just one but by two professional drivers: "My uncle Claude used to take me on a lot of runs, too.”

"I'm looking forward to reporting on the trucking industry, getting to know the business and the issues. It'll also be good to go home and have some detailed conversations about trucking -- well, as far as being a trucking writer will allow me," he says.

“While we’re sad to see Marco leave, we’re also extremely happy that somebody as capable as Jason has stepped up to the plate, “ says Today’s Trucking Editor Peter Carter. “Because we have such a deep bench when it comes to regular contributors and industry authorities, we’re confident our readers and advertisers won’t miss a beat, so we as well as the OTA will benefit from the infusion of new ideas and energy.”
