TORONTO -- It's only been in the Canadian game a couple of years but Tico of Canada Intermodal Equipment has just scored a major coup with what it calls "the largest single purchase of terminal tractors in Canada," to BC Ferries.
The tractors are for the new drop trailer service recently introduced by the ferry operator through its Commercial Services Division, part of an effort to achieve increased asset utilization by generating new, non-traditional income streams.
Aidan S. Bolger, President & CEO of TICO of Canada, boasted that "a major factor in the purchasing decision was the reputation of the TICO terminal tractor as the lowest life cycle cost tractor in North America today."
Ridgeland, S.C.-based TICO may be relatively new to Canada but it has 26 years of operational expertise and experience as a manufacturer and owner/operator of more than 1500 terminal tractors in American ports from Texas to New Jersey.
