FROM THE NEWS DESK...

Class 8 truck orders for June were at the lowest levels since September 2010, reports FTR Associates. While the enivironment is modestly positive for most truckers, it isn't strong enough to elicit higher demand, FTR says.

And speaking of trucks, Navistar went on the record last Friday, acknowledging earlier reports that they are indeed moving into selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. The company will still be working on improving their exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR), and, they said, will be delivering a Maxxforce 13 engine using what it calls 'ICT Plus' emissions technology. That engine will use both SCR and EGR technology.

Plus, Manitoulin Trucks founder Doug Smith is awarded a medal from the Lieutenant Governor.
