DETROIT REVAMPS ENGINE LINE June 27, 2012 Journalists converged on the city with an engine name last week to hear about Detroit Diesel's 2013 engine family, engineered to meet Greenhouse Gas 2014 regulations. Lots of improvements have been made, to the emissions system, to DDEC electronics, to fuel filtration, and much more. And while there's a new DD15 model with a major turbo change, Detroit will continue to offer what it calls the DD15 TC with turbo compounding. In other news we have Groeneveld launching its revised Greensight camera system here here in North America, an extension of the company's obstacle-detection tools available in Europe and elsewhere for some time. Not just automatic-greasing specialists, those Groeneveld folks. Plus a new scissor lift from Rotary, PC*Miler 26 from ALK, and a digital onboard weighing system that knows when the truck's not on level ground from Vishay Precision. The products discussed here in the Product Watch e-newsletter have not been tested by Today's Trucking staff in most cases, and they do not carry our endorsement. We're simply reporting.
