FROM THE NEWS DESK...

The cost of ground transportation for Canadian shippers dropped 1.7 percent in March from February, according to the Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI), but that doesn't mean costs have dropped.

But speaking of costs, Daimler Trucks North America wants to lower your fuel bill. Yesterday, the company unveiled their 2014 Cascadia Evolution, a new design that sees a number of changes to the aerodynamics as well as a re-thought Detroit DD15 engine. Daimler is claiming some impressive fuel economy numbers (think double-digits), and expects the payback on the new Cascadia to be a short one.

That and lots more at Today's Trucking.
