Nova Scotia Carrier Named PeopleNet Innovator of the Year

ORLANDO, FL — Nova Scotia-based trucking firm, Seaboard Transport, was named among PeopleNet's 2014 Innovator of the Year Award winners, at the annual PeopleNet User Conference held in Orlando, Fl.

The awards are given to PeopleNet’s customers for their innovation and are given in categories, based on size of fleet.

The 2014 Innovator of the Year Award winners:

  • Seaboard Transport, based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, recently implemented PeopleNet solutions to improve areas of its business and has noted return on investment savings after introducing eDriver Logs, speed monitoring, vehicle and driver management, fuel tax reporting, and onboard event recording. PeopleNet technology has also improved communication between dispatch and drivers, GPS tracking, automated workflow, improved billing and pay processing times, the company claims.
  • Less-than-truckload company, Old Dominion Freight Line, won in the 500-plus trucks category.
  • Illinois-based carrier, Nussbaum Transportation Services, won in the 100-500 trucks category. The company created Driver Excelerator, a performance measurement and bonus program that uses performance data, engine data and vehicle location data, provided by PeopleNet, and integrates it into a custom-built driver scorecard program.
  • Alabama-based Admiration Foods, a Supreme Oil Company, won in the under 100 trucks category after choosing PeopleNet to provide services for automatic vehicle location, automated fuel tax (Vusion), eDriver Logs, in-cab training, onboard event recording, speed monitoring, and messaging in 2013. The company was able to reduce its compliance, safety, accountability scores to zero, or well below all thresholds.
