On/off-road tires from Pirelli
Those who drive on/off road now have access to a pair of Pirelli tire models – the TG:85 and FG:85 – available in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes.
The FG:85 is an all-position tire for mixed use vehicles that operate on roads, construction sites, and under aggressive tread-wear conditions, the company says. Promoted features include a durable casing to support retreading, a specially formulated tread compound, and a thicker undertread to reduce the threat of casing damage. The tread’s zig-zagging longitudinal grooves and wide transversal shoulder grooves are designed to maximize traction.
The TG:85 is for mixed use vehicles as well, but primarily for the drive position. Its tread features robust shoulder blocks and a large central rib designed to resist tears, and also has large transversal grooves to hold the road and grip slippery surfaces, the company says. The tread compound itself was chosen to control operating temperatures. Other features include a dual-layer tread compound and bead-wrapped chafer to support retreading.
