DIEPPE, NB. — Thirty-three of Canada's best truck drivers competed in this year's National Professional Truck Driving Championships, but it was Team Ontario that came out on top.
The Ontario team also had its own Shawn Matheson, driver with Home Hardware, win Grand Champion this year.
Rookie of the Year went to Marc Léger, Transport Robert, Team Québec.
The event, hosted this year by the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA), was "a huge success and the weather was fantastic," said Jean-Marc Picard, APTA’s executive director. “Congratulations to all the winners and participants. We look forward to attend and support Team Atlantic in British Columbia for the 2013 National Professional Truck Driving Championships."
