OTA Road Knights nomination form available

TORONTO — Think you have a driver in your fleet that can be a standout represented of this industry? Here’s a chance to change his life.

The Ontario Trucking Association says nominations forms for the 2011-2012 Road Knights Team are now available.

If you have a driver that would make an excellent Road Knight, the OTA is encouraging you to fill out an application, (click here to do so) and submit it by the deadline of December 10, 2010.

Sponsored by the OTA Allied Trades Division, the OTA Road Knights are a group of Ontario professional truck drivers who serve as ambassadors throughout the community.

Travelling the province to speak to community groups, safety organizations, schools, car clubs, the OTA Road Knights play a key role in enhancing public understanding of how to safely share the road with a truck, the professionalism of truck drivers, the critical role played by the industry and the numerous careers that the industry offers.

Following completion of the nomination forms, a selection panel made up of industry experts from government, safety, industry media and enforcement groups will select the Road Knights 2011-2012 team in January or February of 2011 and will involve a personal interview and presentation before the panel of judges.
