Peterbilt ramps up production, service times

DENTON, TX- Peterbilt Motors Company plans to expand its manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas after the Denton City Council approved an eight-year, 70 percent tax cut for the facility’s production, reports the Denton Record-Chronicle.

The expansion will increase production by improving the shipping and receiving and material handling process at the facility, which produces heavy-duty conventional truck models. Peterbilt will break ground in the spring.

“Peterbilt is proud to be the largest private employer in Denton County and we enjoy a positive working relationship with the city and county of Denton,” said Leon Handt, assistant general manager of operations at Peterbilt. “This expansion will allow us to continue to grow and increase the efficiencies of our operations.”

Rapid Check

Truck-maker Peterbilt has also announced the introduction of a new quick assessment service program, Rapid Check.

Rapid Check provides customers with diagnostics and an estimate of needed repairs in two hours or less and is being introduced throughout the company’s North American truck dealer network.

“Rapid Check will maximize customer uptime and make their Peterbilt service experience as efficient as possible,” said Darrin Siver, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “Regardless of truck make or model and regardless if the customer is local or passing through the area, Rapid Check will provide them with an expedited, best in class service assessment and estimate to help them get back on the road quickly and cost effectively.”

Within two hours, the Rapid Check program provides:

• Basic vehicle diagnostics;

• Evaluation of needed repairs or, if necessary, more complex diagnostics;

• Regular communication with customers updating the status of their vehicles;

• Estimate of needed repair time.
