PGT Trucking Buying Kelworth Trucking

MONACA, PA—The flatbed Pennsylvania-based carrier PGT Trucking has signed a letter of intent to purchase Kelworth Trucking, another flatbed carrier operating in Canada and the U.S.

PGT signed a letter of intent to purchase the Oklahoma-based Kelworth, which has been in business for 25 years and currently operates about 100 trucks.

Although details of the deal have not been released, PGT expects to complete it by early May.

Scotty Jones, president of Kelworth, and his son, Jeff, who is vice president, will join PGT as a part of its management team.

PGT Trucking operates more than 1,000 power units and over 1,500 trailers.

Kelworth Trucking is the second acquisition for PGT Trucking over the past 10 months. Last August, PGT acquired Liedtka Trucking, based in New Jersey.
