Questions About Electronic Logging? Check This Out.

DALLAS — As regulators move closer to requiring controversial electronic logging devices for most trucks operating in both U.S. and Canada, a new online resource is available to people who have questions about the devices and the rules.

ELDfacts.com has been started by the fleet management services provider Omnitracs LLC, in anticipation of the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration mandate slated for a September release. The regulations are expected to take effect sometime later.

“From scouring through pages and pages of regulations, to trying to make sense of the word on the street, zeroing in on accurate information regarding the ELD ruling can be daunting,” said Tom Cuthbertson, vice president of regulatory compliance for Omnitracs. “Leveraging our team of experts, we’re breaking down the regulation and deciphering what it all means for fleets managers and drivers. ELDfacts.com is designed to be the one stop shop for industry professionals in need of answers.”

With the ELD mandate expected to affect more than three million vehicles and 3.4 million drivers, ELDfacts.com will offer free up-to-date news, paired with expert commentary and advice, according to Omnitracs.

ELDfacts.com is providing brief informational presentations from industry experts, analysis on FMCSA announcements, blog posts tackling technical questions and compliance topics, white papers available for download, and more.
