Searcy Trucking asks Manitoba’s truckers to help end cancer

WINNIPEG, MB- Searcy Trucking’s Vice President, Norm Blagden, is participating in CancerCare Manitoba’s 2015 Challenge for Life, a 20-km walk for cancer prevention, detection, treatment, research and education. And he wants all the trucking community to join him in the Challenge.

“We have all had cancer affect our families, friends and coworkers. Please help by supporting this great cause,” Blagden says.

CancerCare Manitoba is the provincially mandated cancer agency for all of Manitoba, dedicated to excellence in cancer care, to enhancing the quality of life for those diagnosed and living with cancer and blood disorders and to improving the control of cancer for all Manitobans.

“By participating in this 8th Annual “Made-in-Manitoba” event, I have committed to help reduce my own risk of cancer by taking steps to improve my overall health. I am also committing to raise at least $1,000 to support CancerCare Manitoba – and all those who cannot walk,” Blagden says.

The Challenge for Life will take place Saturday June 13, 2015. The Challenge Walk begins and ends at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Interested parties can register here.
Blagden has already raised $1,285.00, exceeding his goal of $1,000. His team, Blazing Bison, is still working towards their $9,000 goal.
