See the Video! Big Rig Jump Sets New World Record

BUTTE, MT –A new king of big-rig jumping was crowned over the weekend when daredevil Gregg Godfrey jumped his semi 166 feet, setting a new world record and beating the previous record by more than 100 feet during Evel Knievel Days in Butte, MT.

Yes, the old record was a mere 62 feet.

Godfrey had only planned to jump 140 feet, but he got his rig up to 70 miles per hour before blasting off in front of some 2,000 cheering people.

Like Evel Knievel, who suffered numerous injuries in his career of jumping everything under the sun, the Daily Mail reported Godfrey may have been injured, saying after landing, “I hit so hard, I think I’m concussed. I don’t think I’m all there.”

We don’t know whether anyone who uses a heavy-truck to fly 166 feet is all there to start with either, but we wish Godfrey well, as we have to admit the footage is just downright cool!

Read more about it and see the pictures from the Daily Mail.
