She's the 2014 Influential Woman in Trucking

GRAPEVIEN, TX — Marcia G. Taylor, president and CEO of Bennett International Group received the fourth annual Influential Woman in Trucking award at this week's Truckload Carriers Association annual meeting.

The Influential Woman in Trucking award recognizes women in the trucking industry who make or influence key decisions, have a proven record of responsibility, and mentor and serve as a role model to other women. WIT and Navistar teamed up to develop this award in 2010 as a way to honor female leaders in trucking, and to attract and advance women within the industry.

“Marcia rose to the top in a field of exceptional candidates,” said Ellen Voie, WIT’s president and CEO. “These women are all role models for our industry—helping us to pave the way for the next generation of women who will become leaders and innovators in trucking.”

Taylor acquired Bennett International Group with her late husband J.D. Garrison in 1974. She’s also the CEO of the Taylor Family Foundation, a private family foundation that donates a percentage of quarterly profits to those in need.

WIT and Navistar also honored three runners-up for this year's award:

  • Amy Boerger, general manager – Field Sales and Service, Cummins Inc.;
  • Kim A. Kaplan, president and chief operating officer, K-Limited Carrier Ltd.;
  • Stephanie Klang, professional driver, Con-way Truckload.
