Shippers’ Ground Transportation Costs Drop Another 1%

TORONTO – Ground transportation costs for shippers dropped another 0.97 percent in August when compared to July, according to the Canadian General Freight Index.

In August, the base rate index decreased by 0.91 percent when compared to July 2014.

Average fuel surcharges also decreased in August.  Fuel was 21.48 percent of base rates in August versus 21.59 percent in July.
