STA joins 18 Wheels of Christmas campaign

REGINA, SK – The Saskatchewan Trucking Association (STA) has joined the 18 Wheels of Christmas campaign.

The STA has soffered their location as a collection spot for the Regina Food Bank. Food and monetary donations can now be dropped off at 1335 Wallace Street in Regina.

The 18 Wheels of Christmas is an annual holiday food drive spearheaded by Rosenau Transport, headquartered in Edmonton, but with terminals throughout western Canada. Organizers are hoping other carriers will expand the concept to their own corners of the country so that every food bank in every community across the country will be stocked with the help of truckers at Christmas time. According to the food drive’s web site, much of what is collected and distributed at Christmastime often lasts through the entire year.

Now in its 12th year, the program was conceived in 2002 as a means for the transportation community to give back to the communities where they live and work.
