Swift Gives Money Incentive to Drivers

PHEONIX, AZ — As an incentive for Swift drivers to improve, Swift Transportation will be giving their company drivers a bonus of up to 6 cents per mile through a new program called the Quarterly Performance Pay.

Currently, Swift drivers are ranked on safety, service and productivity level, and the new program that stars July 1, gives drivers who are employed for the entire quarter, bonuses based on their rank.

The higher the driver is ranked, the fatter the bonus they receive each fiscal quarter.

“As you can see from this new plan, we are serious about retaining and rewarding the best drivers in America,” says Richard Stocking, president and COO.

Naturally, because it is a bonus, the new Quarterly Performance Pay is in addition to the current pay of the drivers. The program is design to reward driver performance that helps the company achieve its goals of improved productivity, customer service, and safety. The bonus is an incentive for drivers to focus more attention to safety, on-time service and miles driven, Swift said.
