AWARDS AND MILESTONES

This time out I’m just going to do a round-up of the latest news. I’ll focus on things you might not have heard about but let’s start with the obvious, the winners of the American Truck Dealers (ATD)  2013 Commercial Truck of the Year award. At the top of the heap in the heavy-duty category is the very deserving Kenworth T680, in this case the 76-in. sleeper version with PACCAR MX engine. It was lauded for its comfort and driveability, among other things. The KW T700 won this class in 2011.

Hino’s 195h won the ATD award in the medium-duty (class 3-7) category. Judges liked its comfort, maneuverability, and fuel-saving nature — it’s a hybrid. The competition is just four years old but Hino has already taken top spot in this class three times.
