TransCore scholarship applications open

TORONTO – The TransCore Link Logistics LinkScholar Program is back for the second year in a row and looking for applicants.

The LinkScholar program, launched in May of last year, helps graduating high-school students affiliated with the Canadian transportation industry pursue post-secondary education by giving away two $2,500 scholarships.

“After receiving a lot of positive feedback and interest following the launch of last year’s program, we are very excited to provide this scholarship opportunity once again,” says Claudia Milicevic, senior director and general manager of TransCore Link Logistics. “We are committed to giving back to the community and helping these young students realize their dreams.”

Students who want to apply can find out more information and/or download an application form here. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2015.

2014 winners

Stephanie Weake from Burlington, Ontario and Rachel Barry from Summerside, Prince Edward Island each won a $2,500 LinkScholar scholarship in 2014 for demonstrating strong academic achievement, well-roundedness, leadership and tenacity.

Weake is enrolled in the Concurrent Education program at Brock University and hopes to teach French in a classroom one day.

“I want to thank you for this amazing opportunity and promise that your investment in me will help me accomplish all of my dreams,” Weake said. “I am one step closer to doing what I want to do and being what I want to be.”

The second scholarship recipient, Barry, is studying Human Rights and History at St. Thomas University.
