TransCore Starts Scholarship Program

TORONTO, ONTransCore Link Logistics announced the creation of its scholarship program, LinkScholar.

“I see this program as an opportunity to give back to the communities in which we live and work. More importantly, it’s one more way we can give back to our customers,” says Claudia Milicevic, senior director and general manager of TransCore Link Logistics.

The LinkScholar Program was launched May 6th and was originally open only to children and grandchildren any of TransCore’s customers and employees in a member organization, including company drivers, dispatchers and office coordinators. But TransCore has expanded the program to the entire Canadian Transportation Industry.

“Recognizing the importance of individuals working in various sectors throughout the industry, now any high-school graduating student with connections to the transportation industry is eligible to apply for the scholarship,” the company states.

All applications will be reviewed. Scholarship recipients will be selected anonymously and will be carried out by an independent party.

The program will grant two $2,500 scholarships to help with tuition costs of post-secondary schools. Applications are currently being accepted. You can download the application forms here: www.transcore.ca/linkscholar.aspx. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2014.
