SUNNYVALE, CA — Trimble announced today that it has acquired privately-held ALK Technologies, a routing, mapping, mileage and navigation technologies company for an undisclosed amount.
The addition of ALK expands Trimble's already thorough transportation and logistics portfolio, which includes TMW Systems, PeopleNet, and GEOTrac.
"The combination of ALK's routing, mapping, mileage and navigation capabilities with our enterprise transportation management software and the mobile communications solutions under the Trimble Transportation and Logistics umbrella supports our comprehensive and industry-focused technology approach," commented said David Wangler, president of TMW Systems.
Barry Glick, president of ALK Technologies, will continue to lead the organization.. Glick said that ALK is excited to partner with the respected TMW Systems, as well as the other Trimble transportation companies. "These organizations share our passion and vision for how location information can transform business and productivity."
