TORONTO, ON – The Toronto Trucking Association is the latest industry group to contribute to relief efforts following a massive wildfire in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

The group’s board of directors voted unanimously to contribute $5,000 to the Red Cross, knowing that the federal government would match the donation, said executive director Connie Burbridge.

“The Red Cross has over 80,000 people registered for relief, and the TTA wanted to help as we know there are many transportation companies and employees, suffering great personal and business losses. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those impacted by the fires,” the association said in a release.
