TTSAO Growing, Increases Board Members

HAMILTON, ON — The Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario (TTSAO) has appointed   three new people to its current board of directors as the group increases its size and scope.

Joining it are Ed Popkie, president of Fifth Wheel Training Institute; Mike Millian, president of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC); and Charlie Charalambous, risk services training team leader at Northbridge Insurance.

TTSAO said it is currently working on a number of projects with government and industry as membership interest and growth continues with both for-hire and private carriers as well as associate members and insurance professionals.

“As our association continues to grow and prosper, we need to expand our board of directors to  best represent our industry and  membership,” said Yvette Lagrois, president of TTSAO. “Adding other seats that reflect education, insurance and private fleets, and the quality of the people  selected speaks volumes about our commitment to growth and success as we move forward.”

TTSAO said it was formed by a large number of registered private vocational schools and other organizations, specializing in truck driver training, coming together to ensure that all drivers entering trucking maintain a minimum level of knowledge and ability consistent with the needs of their employers as well for the safety of the general public.
