ArvinMeritor is introducing two new model EX225 DiscPlus air disc brakes available for heavy-duty truck, specialty vehicles, and trailer applications. The brakes will be available in October.

The company said the EX225L offers a 35 per cent increase in torque, a 15 per cent increase in wearable lining volume, and is 12 per cent lighter than the DX225 it is replacing. The EX225H offers increased wearable lining volume and torque.

The brakes, which also feature a modular sliding caliper design that installs in 22.5-inch wheel envelopes, also feature sealed synchronized twin pistons and robust sealing of slide pins, internal automatic adjustment for pad wear. Options include an electronic pad wear sensor, an electrical pad wear warning indicator, and a visual wear indicator.
