TROY, MI – Meritor WABCO anti-lock braking system (ABS) is now standard equipment on two of Navistar’s class 8 trucks, the International ProStar and the LoneStar.
Jon Morrison, president and general manager of Meritor WABCO said that ABS led the way to advances in safety technology for commercial vehicles and that as a result of the inclusion of ABS on these two truck models, fully integrated safety systems are now an option.
The inclusion of ABS on these two truck models allows for other optional safety-related products including automatic traction control (ATC), rollover stability control (RSC), electronic stability control (ESC) and the OnGuard collision safety system.
“OE’s have the opportunity to look at fully integrated safety systems that not only decrease the risk of accidents, but also lower overall vehicle operating costs through reduced vehicle downtime and risk reduction,” Mossison said.
