UNDER-BUNK STORAGE COMPARTMENT
Freightliner Trucks says that all 70-inch Mid and Raised Roof SleeperCabs on Classic XL, Classic and FLD SD truck models now come with a standard under-bunk storage compartment as part of the integral lower bunk. The Century Class S/T and Columbia in 48-, 58- and 70-inch configurations and the Coronado 70-inch model have featured the integral lower bunk with the under-bunk
compartment since 2003.
The compartment features removable partitions that can be used to arrange and
separate essentials and other gear. Easy to open and close with a center-mounted, "rattle-free" latch, the compartment is also illuminated with
flush-mounted low-current lamps. The bunk tray and liners are said to be made of
a strong, durable plastic that's easily cleaned. The bunk tray also keeps the
mattress stable by trapping it and keeping it centered on the bunk top. With the
addition of optional black mats, interior cab noise reduction is enhanced.
