Vigillo acquired by SambaSafety

PORTLAND, OR – SambaSafety, which specializes in managing driver risks, has acquired Vigillo, a company that provides real-time data to analyze driver and carrier performance.

“We are excited to add Vigillo to the growing number of companies that make up SambaSafety as we continue to define driver risk management by adding to an already robust platform.  Our regulated customers will benefit by utilizing a single risk identification and mitigation dashboard combining both Motor Vehicle Record data and CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) data,” says Richard Crawford, chief executive officer of SambaSafety.

“For [Department of Transportation]-regulated fleets, pre-hire and post-hire driver records can now be synchronized into driver qualification files to ensure that safe, policy-compliant drivers are on the road,” says Crawford.

Combining SambaSafety’s driver risk management solution with Vigillo’s CSA Daylight Suite will help identify and mitigate high-risk driver behavior, the companies say.

“I couldn’t be more excited and look forward to many more years working with the amazing people that make up America’s greatest industry,” says Steve Bryan, president of Vigillo.

Financial details of the purchase were not disclosed.
