Volvo, UAW reach tentative labor pact

DUBLIN, Va. (Jan. 13) — Volvo Trucks North America and unionized production and maintenance workers and salaried employees at the company’s New River Valley truck plant in Dublin, Va., reached tentative deal yesterday on new labor contracts.

The workers are represented by the United Auto Workers.

If ratified, the contract will be the first collective bargaining agreement for Volvo Trucks N.A. salaried employees, who voted for UAW representation last March.

Both production and maintenance workers and salaried employees are represented by UAW Local 2069.

Details of the tentative new contracts are being withheld, pending informational meetings and ratification votes by UAW Local 2069 members on Sunday, Jan. 17.
