Yokohama expands urban/regional lineup

Yokohama Tire has added four new sizes to its 104ZR urban/regional all-position/steer tire line-up: 225/70R19.5, 245/70R19.5, 265/70R19.5 and 285/70R19.5.

The company says benefits of the 104ZR include a five-rib, full-depth tread pattern that delivers a smooth and quiet ride. Its serpentine groove pattern is designed specifically to reduce premature shoulder step-down and irregular wear, further preserving overall tread life. The tire also employs Zenvironment technology, which is said to predict casing growth accurately while also helping with stabilized performance over the life of the tire, longer casing life, and better retreadability.

Improved fuel economy is also claimed, with specialized compounds that are stronger and more pliable and also improve tread wear and lower rolling resistance.

Block-shaped stone defence ribs are said to prevent stones from traveling to the bottom of the grooves, reducing casing damage by up to 25% to ensure greater durability and retreadability.

The 104ZR is also still available in its original sizes: 295/80R22.5, 9R22.5, 10R22.5, 11R22.5 12R22.5 and 315/80R22.5.
