BCTA pushing for tolls at all water crossings

Posted: March 7, 2016 by Today's Trucking Staff

METRO VANCOUVER – The B.C. Trucking Association is reaching out to local governments to consider tolls at every major water crossing in Metro Vancouver, so drivers won’t congest alternative routes to avoid tolls.

The association wants to help truck drivers caught up in congestion south of the Fraser River, as more and more drivers detour around tolls.

Massey Tunnel and Pattullo Bridge are new bridges expected to be tolled, which would leave the Alex Fraser Bridge as the only untolled crossing of the Fraser.

The provincial government must approve a tolling policy.
