Driver in front of Bison truckKELOWNA, BC – The British Columbia Trucking Association’s 2016 Volvo Trucks Canada Driver of the Year is Randy Kuryk of Bison Transport.

Kuryk’s been driving for 29 years. He calls it a career, not a job.

Kuryk says he grew up on a farm, which was the perfect spot to check out equipment like tractors. After high school, he farmed with his father for 10 years. Then, an opportunity came up to get into trucking, and he decided it was time for a change.

“These trucks now are the best,” said Kuryk, as he accepted his award. “They make my job a whole lot safer and easier.”

Kuryk also races cars in his free time.
