CONCORD, ON – The Germany-based Eberspaecher Group is expanding its electronics portfolio by purchasing an 80% majority stake in Canadian company Vecture Inc., known for its battery management products.
Now known as Eberspaecher Vecture Inc., the expanded company will offer battery management products for vehicles, industrial applications and medical technology.
Based in Concord, ON, Vecture Inc. has about 100 employees that will help the new combined company pursue further development in the rapidlygrowing energy storage market.
“We see great opportunities in lithium-ion battery technology,” says Dr. Dirk Walliser, chief operating officer of Eberspaecher Automotive Controls. “With Vecture’s many years of experience and expertise we can provide better solutions for vehicle battery management and complement our supercapacitor systems offerings. With this, we have the energy management of 12-, 24- and 48-volt on-board networks, as well as highly automated vehicles or mild hybrid functions in mind,” added Walliser.
